What people are neighing… er, saying... about us
The barn is wonderful.....full of children, ponies, horses, and horse-loving adults. I have enjoyed watching several kids mature and go off to college. I love overhearing the youngest children talk about learning to ride and their ponies. The summer camps and afterschool programs give children a chance to learn and grow. There is nothing better to boost the confidence of a child than learning how to control a large animal. It can be life changing.

When I moved to Charlottesville after graduating college, I was looking for a lesson barn with adult students. Luckily my friend Emily told me about Montanova, and I started taking lessons with her. That was four years ago, and it’s been an amazing experience. Jen is an excellent coach for adults, and the horses are sound, happy, and well trained. The barn has a welcoming, laidback atmosphere that I love. I couldn’t ask for a better place to ride.

Montanova is my happy place, I love the horses and all of the animals. Not only do I get to ride, I get to help work in the barn. I have been able to mentor newer riders and look forward to my afternoons spent at the barn!

Montanova's amazing staff work hard to provide an environment for riders to not only be the best rider they can be, but to be the best person they can be. An emphasis on collaboration through the mentorship program and personal responsibility with caring for ponies teach core values that resonate through each rider's life. Montanova is a truly special place.

Ms. Jennifer has taught me confidence and to have courage.

Montanova is like a second home for me. I love spending time there with the horses, Jennifer and my friends.

As someone who didn’t begin riding instruction until my 50s, there were some gaps in my riding skills. I came to Montanova in my late 60s after a ten-year hiatus. Jennifer was able to fill in many of those gaps and I am having a lot of fun in the process. Being in a lesson with others, being around the barn with all age groups, and, of course, being with these magnificent horses--it just doesn’t get much better!
